Man pants

I had been longing for men's jeans for quite some time but I could never find a pair that I was truly delighted with. So when I found these levi 501's, my heart melted a little. So this morning I pulled them out of the drawer and decided to pair them with a vintage cheetah print top and a classic black blazer. Some of you have asked me how I put together my looks everyday. Well, truth is I don't really have a particular routine when it comes to putting together my daily ensembles. Some days I may recall that I have a red top hidden somewhere in my closet so I'll pull it out and begin to play around with it. Other days I'll simply rely on my favorite items to throw together a casual look. It really depends on my mood and such. Anyways, forgive me for talking so much!

Inspired by Audrey

Photobucket

Photobucket

I felt very Breakfast at Tiffany's today. I wore a classic black dress that reminded me of Audrey. I remember the day I rented a bunch of Audrey classic films and was completely captivated by Hepburn's strong sense of character that she exuded in the clothes she wore. At that specific moment, she became my role model. A role model who was not emblematic of men's fantasies, but rather her own. A role model who crafted heroines who were courageous, vulnerable, beautiful, and strong both in their manner and in their way of dress. Audrey's personal style was a result of her unwillingness to compromise with society's standards and rather focus on what is real. That is what made me realize that I don't have to dress for anyone but myself. What I wear is symbolic of how I view myself as a woman. Miss Hepburn broadened my definition of beauty and offered an unsubmissive, strong, and less blatantly sexual model. To put it simple, Audrey Hepburn was not only a style icon, but a heroine.

Current Obsession: Swatches

Photobucket

Yes, Swatches. I've always been overly obsessed with men's chunky watches as well as feminine leather watches. I once had a ravishing Movado watch that had been passed on from my mother to me but it was stolen during a Christmas event. So now, I am on a hunt for the most sophisticated watch I can find. I googled Swatch and was completely overwhelmed with excitement when I realized there are so many different types of watches ranging from crocodile leather to gold and silver. Prices range from $40.00-$400.00 and they ship all over the world. Go on swatch.com and start clicking away!!!

Rucked Sleeves

These are one of the trousers I purchased yesterday. I got them at Zara for $30.00! Perfect example of how money shouldn't be a factor that determines your personal style. These trousers are super comfortable and sort of resemble riding pants (that's what my mother said). They have an interesting seam running vertically across each leg of the pant, LOVE IT. And as you can see, I am also wearing my new favorite vint blazer (by the way vint means vintage). I'm not one of those girls who only wear things once. In fact, I'm quite the opposite. I enjoy wearing my lovely treasured pieces until they fall apart. Anyone else with me?!
Ps: It was nice meeting you Ms. Bear (beacauseimaddicted.net)!

Plaid shirt=Plaid dress

The weather has been quite, hmm what's the word, STUPID lately. One day it's like extremely hot and the next it's freakin raining. So I check the weather the night before so that I can dress accordingly. Lame, I know. So I wanted to wear a dress today, but unfortunately none of the dresses in my closet seemed appealing enough to wear. You know when you've worn a certain piece (well with the exception of a few greatly cherished pieces) so many times it's like "Uh I don't want to wear that anymore"? So then, me and my crazy self decided I should wear a plaid shirt as a dress. But then I looked in the mirror and I looked like a refrigerator. That's when I added my favorite belt to cinch the waist. I was actually quite pleased with the outcome of my creative styling!

Troublesome Train

Photobucket

I arose this morning to the sound of the neighbor's lawnmower. Half-awake, I looked over only to find out that I had missed my train by like an hour..so I ran to my closet and pulled out random pieces to put together. Surprisingly, I managed to look pretty decent in a matter of ten minutes.  Also, I am in the process of convincing my dearest father to let me purchase a pair of Marc Jacob ankle boots... I NEED THEM. But then again, I need every pair of shoes I lay my  eyes on.

Casual Cool

My physical therapist asked me why I was so dressed up. I responded "Uhh, I'm not dressed up! It's actually a pretty casual day". Looking at me with an awkward stare, she laughed. Apparently the average woman doesn't consider four inch platforms as casual wear. Hm, whatever.

Ahhhhh I'm completely overwhelmed with mid-terms, fashion projects, and music production. I'm handling it quite well, except for I totally overdosed on coffee today. And luckily, I have the best boyfriend to encourage me when life is hectic.

Grandma Dress Part 2

This dress was perfect for the hot climates, except for it was quite sheer so I paired it with a vintage slip. Then I realized it I had to wear it with a bra (and the bra ruined the look I was going for).... so I added the blazer. Now if you'd exuse me, I'd love to go do some sun-bating, take a dip in my delicious swimming pool, and sip on iced green tea.

BoyStyle: Adrian Deras

Photobucket

I was the one who introduced him to tarnished vintage tees, ragged old chucks, skinny jeans, and lumberjack flannel shirts. His list of fashion accomplishments include: the award of "best dressed" in his school, swooning the ladies over with his casual slick style, and a unique collection of plaid shirts and corduroys. Love love love how young and fashionably-aware he is....My little brother!

Glamourous Behavior

Photobucket
Apparently I have major issues with choosing the proper clothing to wear to such an informal place like school. My fellow train passengers looked rather annoyed as I frantically tried to hold my dress and stuff my bag with breakfast foods, textbooks, and pencils. Not only did I struggle transporting myself with this little number, I also discovered once I arrived at school that my dress was completely see-through. So during break, self-consciously uncomfortable, I ran to the scholarship store, and bought a tube top to wear as an undergarment.

Luellla ella ella eh eh eh. I decided to tone this skirt with basics, note the white tee and gray blazer. Oh and these shoes are probably the most painful shoes I own.. yet I still wear them because I love them. Also, my aunt asked me how come I don't brush my hair... who asks that these days?? K bye

Stella McCartney: How I Would Wear it

Photobucket
First of all, let me just say that I am completely infatuated with the collection's color schemes, silhouettes, and sky-scraping platforms.
Her pieces for fall's collection are the type of pieces that can be worn in so many different ways it's not even funny.

1) The gray and black structured dress- I would wear this with black tights in the winter and black sheer socks in the warmer climates (although it seems quite heavy for the spring). I'd wear bright quirky shoes to perhaps add a touch of randomness.

2) The SKIRT- Let's get straight to the point.. I'd wear this with everything and anything. From boy's oversized plaid shirts to a plain james perse tee, let's just say this is the most versatile piece ever and I really need it.

3) The mustard dress- So elegant, so graceful, so.. beautiful. Although I'd probably have no where to wear this gorge dress, I'd pair this fine thing with a turquoise stone belt or perhaps a distressed leather belt.. mmm so sexy

4) The long black dress- option a) worn with blk tights (ooo quite goth and mysterious) option b) with super strappy sandals and leftover makeup

5) The gray platform wedges- I'd wear those suckers until death do us part.

Saturday Night Fever

This beaded cardigan was probably one of the most beautiful purchases I've made in quite some time. It automatically spices up any plain jane ensemble...LOVE IT. I have a feeling that I'm going to be showering this little thing with affection and most likely neglect my other favorite pieces. I tried to tone it down with a black tee and jeans (wide-legged for a change). Too bad you can't see my shoes! mm oh well.

All I have to say is I'm really into the "emphasis on the shoulders" trend we've seen on the runways (MARTIN MARGIELA). Oh and I'm also into sheer socks and broccoli cheese soup. Please don't ask where I come up with the non-sense talk.

realized I need a better lenses for my camera. Either that or I suck at cleaning my current lenses. I purchased this dazzling (well, dazzling in my opinion) at a goodwill for like three bucks. As I was getting dressed for church my mother made sure she informed me that my dress reminded her of a grandma. Thank you mother for your words of encouragement.
Ps. I edited this post because I felt the blue didn't come off as bright as I'd like it to.
